Kishore Mahbubani was Singapore's ambassador to the UN and is currently the Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
A few days ago, i watched an interview he had with the BBC's Hardtalk.
When Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur grilled him about Singapore and democracy, Mahbubani got all flustered, upset, didn't directly address the issues about Singapore's politics but instead chose to deflect.
Watch the rest of the interview here, here.

thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Kishore makes a fool of himself by diverting the topic about torture and the US.
even his diplomat skills couldn't save him, and rightly so, he maintains that he's been out of the corps for 3 years.
if you've been watching him regularly on this tour, he has become a broken record. i think he is loud hailing his book so vigorously that he's becoming an empty vessel.
even with deriding the EU he tries to prop up the ASEAN model of non-interference and institutional paralysis.
he's trying to make a quick buck on his book.
